CAST Studios

2011 CAST Studio recipient Laura Hindmarsh's studio
CAST awards four studio placements a year to visual artists, curators and arts writers in non-residential studios at 27 Tasma Street, North Hobart.
2012 CAST Studio recipients are Anna Cocks, Julie Gough, Lucy Hawthorne and Amanda Shone.
The aim of this initiative is to support local arts practitioners through access to affordable and centrally located studio space and to encourage the develop of innovative and experimental arts careers.
Please note that those enrolled in full-time study are not eligible to apply.
The use of the studio is for 12 months only. Studios are awarded at no cost to artists but there is a requirement for each artist to hold public liability insurance and to pay a refundable bond of $300 at the commencement of their occupation. There is 24 hour access to studios, which are covered by a security system.
In addition to providing a dedicated space in which to work this is an opportunity to form collegiate relationships with other studio artists, CAST staff and visitors. It is expected that studio artists will join in and contribute to CAST activities.
