CRAFT MENTORSHIP

CAST Touring administers an annual Craft Mentorship aimed at emerging practitioners. This provides an opportunity for the successful applicant to develop a training program with a mentor of their choice. A 12 week living allowance for the trainee and fees for the mentor are funded. This opportunity is provided through the Visual Arts Board (VAB) and is subject to ongoing funding.

Jeweller, Karin Beaumont, was awarded the mentorship in 2007. She worked alongside renowned Australian contemporary jeweller, Marian Hosking, who was able to assist her in gaining new necessary skills in design, metal-smithing and marketing.
