This successful and much welcomed initiative provided an introduction to contemporary curatorial practice - ranging from procedures followed by Artist Run Initiatives to major institutions - and incentive for more curatorial activity in Tasmania. A series of papers were presented by prominent national curators, along with information sessions from Tasmanian public gallery representatives regarding curatorial opportunities in the state.

The workshop component gave an excellent opportunity for those interested in curating contemporary art exhibitions to develop their ideas in consultation with their peers and with selected panel members.
