CAST Gallery

This was the fifth exhibition developed and presented in partnership with the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, and was curated by Peter Hughes and Michael Edwards. Facture was an exhibition of the work of Tasmanian crafts practitioners who resist the sanctioned production methodologies of recent design and object manufacture and instead sought a poetic fit between making, material and meaning. The diverse range of objects – encompassing jewellery, screens, mats and floral grave decorations  – were all made manifest in the fabricating hands of their makers.
