Curator's statement

This is a text-based show. But it is not about text, it is about un-text, non-text. Not text. It is about the things we do not or cannot write, the things we cannot read and the things we do not or will not hear.

It is a letter, an email, a text message that you have written to somebody - something unprofessional, conversational. You are telling them stories and every second or third sentence ends with ‘…’ the Morse code of silence, a pause, a moment, of a single breath, a thought.

It is a broken text message that you receive when something goes wrong in the sending. And there it is, three strange words, visible only by the recipient, unintended by the author: *some text missing*. Missing? But where did it go? It is words unrecoverable, intent unrepeatable, meaning unwritten, it is everything unread and unheard. It is text lost in space.

Five art writers were each asked to write on one of the works/artists featured in this exhibition to further investigate the concepts behind *some text missing*. This written dialogue inhabits yet another space, in art and in text.
