Matt Warren is based in Hobart and maintains a local and international practice. Highlights on his exhibitions record include: Moral Hallucination, 2000 Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney; Apparently Nothing, 2006 (with Deborah Pollard) Inflight Art, Hobart, Sense of Fear, 2006 (with D Group), Tabor, Czech Republic, and The Port Arthur Project, Ten Days on the Island Festival, 2008. Warren's practice incorporates performance, video, sound and installation and is marked by his steady concentration on loss and longing and for yearning beyond corporeal restriction. Warren has received numerous grants and awards, including an Anne and Gordon Samstag International Visual Arts Scholarship in 2009, and he has also undertaken residencies in Canada, Brisbane, Czech Republic and Germany.
