Anthony Johnson lives in Hobart. His exhibition history predominantly features solo shows at Artist Run Initiatives, as well as galleries and museums, throughout Australia. These include, Object Lessons, Westspace Inc, Melbourne 2003; Workrestplay, Firstdraft Gallery, Sydney 2005; Not all cocktails make good punches, Kings ARI, Melbourne 2006; A.M.J. Utilities-Better Solutions for Bad Ideas, Inflight ARI, Hobart 2007. Johnson was selected to exhibit in the survey exhibition of young Australian contemporary art, Primavera 2007 at the MCA, Sydney and Samstag Museum, Adelaide. In 2007 he was a recipient of an Australia Council funded studio residency in Los Angeles. He holds a Diploma of Fine Arts (National Art School, Sydney, 1995), a Bachelor of Fine Art (College of Fine Arts, UNSW, 1998) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours (Tasmanian School of Art, UTAS, 2001).
