Denise Ava Robinson

Denise Ava Robinson primarily lives and works in Lulworth on the north coast of Tasmania, and has recently relocated to Hobart to undertake further study.  Over the past decade she has built a substantial exhibitions record in Tasmania, nationally and in Hawaii.  Robinson held her first major solo exhibition at the Burnie Regional Art Gallery, Part and Particle,  in 2007. Previously she was included in Place, Identity and Making of Ephemeral/Public Art, 2005, at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, and Register, 2006, at the Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery, and more recently in Re-earthing, 2009 at the Devonport Regional Art Gallery. Robinson has received numerous arts grants and residencies in her home state and has undertaken international exchanges, workshops and study in the United States and Hawaii. Robinson's practice is centered in process, her work evolves from daily observations, recording, and collecting and always with strong reference to a specific site or space.  Robinson was awarded a Bachelor of Fine Art with Honours, University of Tasmania in 2000.
