Micah Lexier

Micah Lexier is a Canadian artist whose work has been exhibited internationally for over a decade. His work has become known to Australian audiences mainly through Gitte Weise Gallery, Sydney, where he had a solo exhibition in April this year. Other solo exhibitions in 2004 at Dazibao, Montréal, Québec and the National Gallery of Canada Library, Ottawa, Ontario. Other exhibitions for 2004 include;Hidden Histories(curated by Micheal Petry), at The New Art Gallery Walsall, Walsall, UK,Worts: Another Dimension, Robert Birch Gallery, Toronto. He is represented in the following collections; The British Museum, London, England. The Jewish Museum, New York, New York. Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, Australia.Lexier was recently invited to take part in the Art Forum program at the Tasmanian School of Art, University of Tasmania, where he gave a talk about his work and his abiding interest in Minimalism and the conceptual art of the 1970’s. He lives and works in New York and is represented by Jack Shainman Gallery, New York, New York; Robert Birch Gallery, Toronto, Ontario, Trépanier Baer Gallery, Calgary, Alberta, and Gitte Weise, Sydney, Australia.
