Marcus has worked in sculpture and furniture projects continuously since graduating with a BFA from the University of Tasmania in 1989. Well known early for his percussion instrument such as the Log Drum, Marcus has kept a broad base of skills and objectives working simultaneously. 5 solo shows, TAFE teaching, residencies in USA, playground design and production, European research trips, public art and national sculpture events have all added to his arts practice. Many of his sculptural works are composed and executed during extended camping visits to the industrial wastelands of Tasmanian forestry coupes.
