Dean Chatwin is a sculptor living and working in Hobart and is currently undertaking a research higher degree at the University of Tasmania. He is the recipient of several awards and a public commission.
Much of his inspiration comes from observing the interactions between the natural environment and development. His sculpture frequently investigates how nature and society combine to produces hybridised situations and environments. At present his practice is looking at human ecology on the perimeter of suburbia. An area known as the periurban zone.
