A curated group exhibition that investigates the term ‘conceptual art’.This term has both a specific art historical meaning and a more general application in contemporary art circles, making it ambiguous. It is important for those interested in contemporary art practices to clarify what is meant by conceptual art and this exhibition by Tasmanian artists encourages dialogue around the term.

An awkwardness is often associated with the term 'Conceptual Art'. The commonplace understanding of the term frequently becomes dislodged from historical meaning and is used as a descriptor for the vast majority of contemporary art.
Questions to be considered include:
· What does the term ‘Conceptual Art’ denote today?
· Has the institutionalisation of Conceptual Art drained it of meaning?
· Is the commodification of Conceptual Art possible?
· Have artists adopted the strategies of Conceptual Art but not the content?
