CAST Gallery

Pattern as Subject presented the work of five Tasmanian-based artists whose work is concerned with patterning. In the traditional hierarchy of abstraction, pattern is generally regarded as secondary embellishment. These artists rejected this either by treating it as an aesthetic end in itself or as symbolic structure.
